Deb & Martin having a fabulous time in Italy.
Martin Rowe
I grew up in England and eventually moved to Australia where I met my wife, Debra Ehmann, and lived for many years.
I have spent 25 years teaching drawing, illustration, photography and design at various universities in England and Australia. Teaching has been fundamental to my learning—clarifying and challenging what I believe, underlining the importance of process in developing work, as well as providing the opportunity to practice both the physical and conceptual side of image-making.
I became a full time artist in 2006 and have been living on a lake in Wisconsin’s northwoods since 2007.
Debra Ehmann
I was raised in Wisconsin and left for Australia at the age of eighteen. I’ve spent almost all of my adult life in Australia and in England. I attained both a Bachelors and Masters degree and have been a graphic designer as well as a full-time university professor of Design for many years in both of these countries.
I have been hand-coloring my original B&W photographs since 1986. I developed and printed my own photographs for most of this time but have now moved to digital photography and oil painting.
I have been pursuing a full-time career as an artist since returning to Wisconsin in 2007 with my husband Martin Rowe.
